Lucky Us!

Valentine’s Day started and ended with surprises.

I was surprised at work to receive a dozen roses from Bill.  The very surprising part was that the card was hand written, meaning he had taken care of it before leaving for Alaska!  They are beautiful!

photoThen when I thanked him for the delivery, he told me there were also surprises for the kids and I in the bottom drawer of his night stand!

We got home to find a bag of gifts and some stuffed animals for the kids.  I had bought them each a mini Valentine’s Day sock monkey.  He got them a mini Winnie The Pooh and Eyore and some heart candies.  A gift bag also had chocolate for me and two Willow Tree figurines.  They’re precious!

Happy Valentine’s Day

I am about a month behind again, but wanted to get out a Valentine’s Day greeting to everyone.  I made Valentines from the kids to hand out today, but was not able to make enough for everyone or to get them shipped off to people out of town.

So… take a look and please know that we love you all.  I can’t tell you how much you are appreciated for the support you’ve given us as a family… whether that’s watching the kids, coming to gatherings or just listening to me rant about their funny stories.

I realize many think this isn’t a “true” holiday, but why not give a little extra love today anyways?  Hugs & Kisses from us!

Meanwhile, the rugrats and I are sending our love to Bill as he’s 3,000+ miles away in Alaska.  He’s been gone for a week now for work and we can’t wait for him to come home toward the end of this week.  He did get to go see some sights Sunday and sent a few pictures of the Denali National Park:

While I’d love to be with him to see it too, he just has to tell me that the temperature is –40 degrees and I get over it real quick!  Love ya babe!

Oh, one more thing… would you believe we signed on the house a year ago Friday!

More posts to come soon! (Yes, I did post this at 12:15am! – time for bed!)

Sledding For The First Time

Grandma & Grandpa got the kids sleds for Christmas, but the weather on the weekend had been so cold since the holidays that we just couldn’t get out to use them!  That is until today!  I bundled them all up for the 30 degree weather and headed out to the back yard!

So, Noah wasn’t too thrilled about the whole situation… the only way I could keep him happy was to keep the sun out of his eyes or stay moving.  I don’t know if it was because the snow was so wet or what, but they were really heavy to pull around!

Later that night, we had some visitors next door… actually lots of visitors.  Carissa and I counted 10 deer eating the now visible grass in the empty lot next door.  There were more babies than usual but didn’t see a buck this time.  You can see six of them in the photo below.
