After months of trying to get together, we got the Matterns to come over for the 4th of July! Brats on the grill, fireworks in the bag! Had no idea what to expect out of the kids once the big bangs came out, but we were actually pretty impressed.
Start them out with snaps and they’ll jump all over the place! Noah loved throwing them in the grass… and somehow still go them to go off. Maddie was all about the height.

Once we took out the smoke bombs, Noah was all about lighting things and getting really close to them. Had to set some serious boundaries! However, he didn’t like the sparklers until they were out… and then he wanted to hold them… and got an ouchie.
Now we just need to make sure we see the Matterns again before the next July 4th!
