Thanksgiving At The Knaebles'
On our way to the Cities for Thanksgiving with the Knaebles.
Alexis did very well on the ride up there... but only slept for about the last hour. Still, her "throne" gave her a great view of the road.
After the feast, Grandma Knaeble (Hunter) & her new husband, Norm, visited with my Aunt Susie and Cousin Kaleena.
Everyone got to meet little Noah.

And Alexis got to meet "Sally", Dad's white pet squirrel...
...and play with his collection of musical instruments.

Bill wasn't feeling well enough to hit the stores early for Black Friday, and really, there wasn't much out there that matched with the wish-lists we'd gotten from family. So we tried to sleep in... Alexis woke us up at seven... and headed over to "Super" Busha's house (that's how we started designating between her grandparents and my grandparents. I think she was getting confused with all the Bushas & Dzia Dzias).
That's where she got to meet two more white squirrels! She's very fascinated with them now! (Too bad all she'll see are deer in our new backyard. Hope those offer just as much excitement.)
Uncle Tim got to meet Noah.
And Alexis & "Super" Busha shared a pot of tea.
We were supposed to stay overnight Friday to go to my cousin's wedding, but Alexis' cough just hadn't improved enough. So we packed things up and headed back home for the comfort of all our own beds.

18 Months!
Alexis is a year-and-a-half old today!
She's been sick lately and went to day care today for the first time and only day this week. Noah and I took her to the see the doctor on Monday with a bad cough & really runny nose... likely another sinus infection. She's on an antibiotic which has already helped make her feel better in time for Thanksgiving.

House Week 3 & 4
We're already in week 5 of construction on the house so I'd better get you caught up on the progress!
Week 3:
Take a look at the exterior from the sidewalk:
This is the lower level from the southeast corner:
And from the northeast corner:
This is looking at the front of the house from the northwest corner. The front platform here will be the living room, dining room & kitchen. The higher one in the back will have our bedrooms & bathrooms on it.
Week 4:
You're looking at the three stalls of the garage, front door & front window (not cut out yet):
The kitchen, living room & dining room again with the bedrooms framed in the upper level:
The back of the house:
(not all the windows are cut out yet)

Go Stampede!
We spent our Saturday night supporting our local hockey team, the Sioux Falls Stampede, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I have a co-worker whose niece was diagnosed with CF at 10 days old and they coordinated a fundraiser night with the team... a good enough reason for me to get out of the apartment for the night!
So, we put Alexis in pigtails and Noah in some warmer clothes and headed off to the Arena to watch some hockey. We taught Alexis how to say "hockey" on the way there. While she couldn't stop saying it in the car, she clammed up once we got to the game.
She got her first glimpse of the blimp and didn't know exactly what to think.
As long as it didn't come too close, she was okay but was still intrigued. Think the face on the front of the balloon was a bit much for her.
But seeing "Stomp" in person didn't go quite as well as seeing the Disney characters in Florida this past January. She pointed at him from afar, but when we put them together, she just wasn't interested... at all!
Noah hung out in my baby pouch and slept through the WHOLE game. Only got a little cranky as we left.
The team won 5-2 over Omaha. No brawls this night but a decent game otherwise.
And we were able to contribute to the $2,100 raised for CF!

November Fun
Swimming on the 7th:
Bill took an overnight trip to see the Nebraska Huskers football game in Lincoln so Aunt Carissa came over to the apartment to help take Alexis swimming in the apartment swimming pool.
We had to borrow a suit from Bella because the one I ordered didn't come in time, but she warmed up to the water as long as she was in her starfish floatie.
House Week 2:
By the end of the second week, the crews have the floors poured for both the lower levels. They hope to pour the garage floor the first thing next week.
Since it's a multi-level, you're looking at the two lowest levels. The lowest floor will have a game room bedroom and utility room. The higher slab is for a family room, bathroom and laundry room.
November 10th Family Visit:
Alexis & Noah's Great Grandpa Art & Great Grandma Linda came to town for a visit. I was a naughty Mommy and didn't take any photos (that's been a problem lately!). But this is the beautiful fishbowl blanket GG Linda made for Noah.

Catching up on lost time...
Just a heads up... I just posted lots of new photos, backdated for archiving purposes. So be sure to check them out too!
Noah: 1 Month
Noah is 1 month today!
He's a very good baby and really likes to eat... about every 2-3 hours. He isn't quite sleeping through the night yet because of it, but only wakes up twice (usually around 3 or 4 am & then again around 6 or 7).
He has his 1 month check up on Wednesday so we're excited to see how big he's gotten.
