1st Birthday Party!

The birthday girl loved her party dress!

Her friends and family were so wonderful & spoiled her rotten!

Alexis got her own special cake (without milk or soy) and it took her a while to figure out what she was supposed to do. Didn't like the frosting on her fingers at first and made me wash them before she went any further. It started slow and she never really "dug" into it.


But liked using the spoon!

Great Busha gave her the rocking chair she got for her first birthday! How special! And she loves it so much! She sits in it in the living room when ever she can.

We all thought she'd crash really well really early that night... but after everyone left she just kept playing. Around seven we thought she was a gonner but she just kept going and going...

and didn't go to bed until around ten o'clock!

It's only fitting that our 100th post is of Alexis' First Birthday!

Bathtime hair fun... it stayed up all by itself

& would have dried that way if I let it!

She likes the video rocker & can get up into it all by herself.

Opened the Dora the Explorer ball set Cousin Ethan got for her when she was born. She walked around with them in her mouth like a little puppy dog... slobber and all!


We're also trying to experiment more with solid foods. Tried them a couple weeks ago but she wouldn't keep them down. Gave her some canned carrots, soft apple pieces & mandrin oranges. She liked it all & kept it all down!

Alexis got to join her Auntie Carissa for her 21st Birthday Party at Bracco.

Meet Baby #2

Got to do our 20 week ultrasound at 18 weeks 6 days. Baby is about 9 ounces right now. We opted to not find out the sex but baby's heart rate is a little slower than Alexis' was. They aren't the best scans since the baby is a little earlier than when we had Alexis' done.

My doctor also had the specialist take a look at things because I have gestational diabetes again and because of heart defects that run in my family. The heart looks good but the doctor scheduled another ultrasound in 10 weeks to do a size scan. Since I've had GD twice now, the baby could be bigger the second time around (we'll see about that!). He also wants me to do a more extensive round of testing 3 months after deliver to check me for non-gestational diabetes.

Oh, I've been feeling just fine, no different than the first time around. Piece of cake.

So, this photo is going around as the "source of swine flu". But I have to giggle each time I see it because it reminds me of something Alexis would do. She kisses with her tongue out, so I imagine a pig would be no different!
